Forge Minerals is pioneering carbon storage through advanced mineralisation techniques. Its innovative approach transforms CO2 into valuable minerals, offering a scalable and efficient solution for industries to significantly reduce their carbon footprint.
⟡ CHALLENGES
Creating the brand with limited resources and a short timeline. Develop materials and basic design rules that need to be easy to use by non-designers while looking high-end & professional.
⟡ ROLE
As freelance designer, I worked with the founders to identify how to stand out from competitors and turn it into a brand identity. Also helped with building the investor decks to increase the odds of funding.
⟡ OBJECTIVES
Developing a simple yet effective brand strategy & identity, website, investor decks & supporting materials. Set up a design system that is easy to use by the founders while leaving room for future expansion.
⟡ OUTCOMES
A bootstrapped yet effective brand & identity, effectively created in mere days. With it, they managed to attract new partners, scale up their operations and had several positive pitches with investors.


COMPETITOR ANALYSIS
The core audience was primarily large industries & investors, so we wanted the identity to look & feel quite straight-forward and easy to grasp.
We analysed large competitors for their tone of voice, wording, shape language, typography, colors, etc. and gave it our own spin to look somewhat familiar yet recognisable on its own.
QUICK EXPLORATIONS
Trying to capture the essence of turning CO2 into a new usable product while remaining simple, legible and different enough from competitors.



1. SILICATE STRUCTURES
Based on the classic tetrahedron to represent silicates. Chain & sheet silicates can be used to create patterns & interesting shapes for the overal visual language.

2. CARBON CHAINS
Intertwining & merging multiple carbon chains to form a new solid. The base hexagonal shape can be easily used as a base for patterns, animations, etc.

3. CARBON TO SOLIDS
Abstract representation of compressing & fusing carbon into a new compound, akin to basic chemical structure visualisations. Easy to reuse as a shape language.
